Seeing as I see this primarily as a music(ians') forum, I figured we might as well trade hot tips on players to check out, new bands, everyone's own projects and so on.

You can copy-paste links here normally, just bear in mind that the FW forum will display the link as if it was linked to the main site (for instance, all youtube links will be shown as "www.youtube.com"). I'd like to see this little programming quirk fixed soon, personally.

This trio always makes my day...

Hey guys!
Check this player out, turkish musician that plays a double-neck guitar, one fretless. He uses a device called an E-bow (which makes the string magnetically resonate indefinatly), and just slides around. Love the sound!

In the early 80's when guitarists in Australia were falling over themselves to either be a Metalhead or in a Newwave band, Cold Chisel were a cult Rock band that combined Deep Purple attitude with Rockabily, Reggae and Blues. Ian Moss the guitarist is to this day my favorite Aussie player because his tone, vibrato, note choice and chops are his and his alone. If you can, check out the live album 'swingshift' where sweat, vodka and pure musical electricity make for great listening. If anyone's interested and can't find any of thier work I will cut my vinyl to CD.

I haven't heard electric guitar playing this intense in a long time. Check it out. A lot different than his work with Screaming Headless Torsos or Kif, too.

One of my former students, Pelle Simonsbacka, making his youtube debute with this first-take jam. Pelle has been playing for little more then 3 years, and for the last year doing mostly his own singer/songwriter popmusic. He is IMO a good example of how a strong focus on timing before technique makes for accomplished playing and improvisation in short time.
