Yeah, the sandblast finish on the Äijä is very nice. I like that, too.
I wonder if there will be something like a "maple-coloured" body with a sandblast finish. I imagine it looked great...

First, sorry for being a bit AWOL lately. Mitey hectic times iz. Promise to be more active on the forum as of now.
Hmmm. Sandblasted maple? I'll have to ask Veijo about that. I'll let you guys know.
Bowtiebandito, you'll want to visit the FAQ section of the site at
www.flaxwood.com
and read up on FW, EMG's and what some people have felt is a problem with high-gain settings and the semi-hollow FW body. Just so you're aware. Some people dig, some people don't. Go figure. :)
Feels so weird being stuck in Helsinki with a gig-free three weeks on my hands. Was supposed to spend the time in Beirut, Lebanon, studying Arabic music but couldn't go because of the current situation in the country, flights cancelled at the last minute. Damn politics. My cancelled trip totally aside, I pray everyone stays safe over there!
Out!

Yeah! "Sandblasted maple" or rather like the unfinished bodies shown in the production process tour, but sandblasted. I like that and it should work nice as 'canvas' for some illustration, the sandblast finish giving a nice texture...
Maybe you could test a set of EMG SA/S/HA ('single coil' variant) with the Flaxwoods? Nudge, nudge... ;o)
The production process tour is really cool. Cut a video and post it to YT and Flaxwood MySpace site... people love those vids!
All the best to all of you!

Hello everyone :}
I'm new around here, I've recently discovered the amazing Flaxwood guitars, I even got to try out one! It was awesome..
Anyway, my name is Ariel, I'm only 15 years old, definitely one of the youngests if not the- youngest in here :) I live in Israel where we unfortunately don't have a Flaxwood dealer.. However I do have a guitar - a modest washburn that serves me well for now, but not for long. Flaxwood is currently out of my reach, especially price-wise, but one day.. I'll get my hands on a brain-blasting nose-metling ear-crushing Flaxwood..
Good day :)

Welcome to the Woods of Flax, thewake!
Any comments about the guitar you tried out? Where was this?
Unfortunately we don't - yet - have a distributor in Israel, but meanwhile you can e-mail us at the Flaxwood Workshop directly.

Thanks J
I think you can tell what was my impression.. Well, it was really great. The first thing I noticed was its comfort on your body, it's not heavy at all, but seems very solid and well set-up. The designes are very beautiful, too. And the sound of it.. Simply amzing! Wonderful clean tone, and awesome distortion. I think it was a Vasara..
I got to try it out in one of the music stores in Israel, the salesman had one of his own (not for sale of course!) and luckily he let me try it out.
Thanks for the nice welcome, and hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a Flaxwood soon..
See you!

Hi Chaps.
Here's a pic of a recent guitarist through the studio. This is Paul who plays with Melbourne outfit Sadhana. They are instrumental and combine the energy of RHCP with Tool. He plays a PRS but after we used my Liekki on a couple of tracks he declared he would start saving for a Rautia. You can check out our work at:
www.myspace.com
They are FANTASTIC
