STARTER MESSAGE 15.09.2008, 18:42

This is a pic from the begining of my German tour with Aussie singer songwriter Carolyn Oates as we tour the new Album I have produced. The guitars used were simply my Liekki through my CarrAmp Hammerhead.

How!

How's the tour been going?

Can you give an overview of the Carr amp you're playing? I'm looking for a good combo to use, since now that I moved to Boston I left my main rig back in Helsinki. And yes, something that sounds great with a Liekki, obviously, as the only electrics I brought over was the Liekki and the FW fretless. ...I still can't get over Carr playing Carr. :)

All the best for your gigs!

Hi Jussi.
The gigs are keeping us busy and I'll post some more updates soon.
The Carramp I have is a Hammerhead combo. It's a point to point hand wired Class A 28 watt ripper that is the closest thing you can find to the early non top boost Vox AC30. It's built to be run hard and has simple but effective controls. His website is good enough but I don't think the sound clips do the amp justice. The Guitar player review is good though.
It can go from warm clean, through overdrive to mayhem. Steve has added a function called Grip which sends the amp into stupid distortion when turned up to 11. Through my old Marshall '71 quad this is the Crunch sound from Crunch Nirvana.

I hear Boston is not cheap...

Here is my 1st gig with my brand spankin new Flaxwood custom. Please allow me to be self indulgent and call it the David Carr model! It has the F-hole, Tobacco burst finish, 2 Jones powertron pickups, 2 volume pots, a stacked dual tone pot, the sunken trem/ low neck profile and most importantly, a custom neck profile. This guitar is PERFECT!

Yeah!

Congratulations on the new guitar, David! Glad you've been happy. How does it compare to the stock Liekki in your opinion?

Very happy for you, Sir!
